These are the first emails that came in as feedback when the site came on-line. Sarah Cross, Deputy Editor of news paper publications in Redditch has published our appeal in Redditch (Royal Enfield Birthplace) for us getting in contact with the people who built our machines! She scored!! We've located Mr Humphries, who was a Royal Enfield designer for 14 years and is still in touch with the chief designer. Read the fruits of our correspondence with Mr Humphries in future updates! (he hasn't got e-mail). (got a letter yesterday, 27 Nov) Mike and LizzyMissoula, Montana, USA Have a Series II Interceptor -67 and write: It's about time I hear there are a few of us interceptor survivors, not just Bullets. I am the proud owner of a 1967 Royal Enfield 750 Interceptor, with only 23,000 orig. miles. It's been stored in my pops gar. for 22 years. He bought it in 1974 But she's just now getting broke in. Isn't really happy on in town riding, but she'll cruise on the highway all day happily. Would like to hear from other Interceptor owners and share experiences. Mike in Montana Fred Lives in Dordrecht Holland and says "Very good site, found it some days ago. Started restoring a stage one 69 (re-imported in 69 to Holland, might be older)Hope to finish this project in 2 years. In the meantime I can ride my Triumph 3ta and my BSA Bantam. Nearly done with the break-in. I will post a picture when I figure out how. Glad to have an Interceptor site. I forwarded your website to 10 or 15 Interceptor owners I correspond with so perhaps we can spend some time on your site when you get the bulletin board going. Thanks for the comments on my photos, I am pretty pleased with the way the bike turned out, gets great discussion going where ever I go. Just need to get my transmission leak fixed You will find his picture below (click for large. Kevin can't wait for us to get the bulletin board going. Jim Carr, from Virginia, US, has a prize awarded Interceptor in a class of its own. It makes you drool See our picture Gallery! He writes: I almost fell over two years back when, at the VBMC (that's the Virginia British Motorcycle Club) meet, there was no actual class for RE's so I ended up in a class with a bunch of Vincents, HRD's and Squariels ... and I took first place! As you've gathered, I'm quite proud of it. It's completely factory original, untouched, always starts within a couple of kicks and it goes like absolute stink! (I just love blowing off RUB Harleys that surely cost 10 times as much.) The Harley guys can't believe it either! A Series II Interceptor was my first Brit bike back in '70 when I was in the Navy in Hawaii so, when I found this one, I just had to have it. I flew from Virginia to Colorado, rented a truck and brought it back home and have never regretted it since. Please include the pic if you want and stay in touch. I gather you're in Australia? Jim has: 69 Enfield Bullet 500, 69 Royal Enfield Series II Interceptor, (subject of conversation) 96 Enfield Bullet 500 and a bunch of frames, tanks, side covers and various other basically useless crap. He has a number of other Brit Bikes as well. Ray Knight: Mine's a Mk2 hybrid, MA 1A frame 1968 and 1969 Mk2 motor. Just finished a restoration job and after years on Super Meteors, its a revelation. I'll access the site, and be in touch. Good on yer mate for your efforts. Jack Moore of WA in Australia, has worked in the Royal Enfield Factory, check out his web site at http://www.jackmoore.cjb.net and http://www.geocities.com/battcar2001 Brian Koldyk of Canada wrote; Have 1970 RE 750 for sale. Low miles in great running condition. Do you know what it's worth and if there is a buyer out there? He has his bike listed with picture in our Buy and Sell page! John Donlon, LaGrange Park, Illinois, USA wrote: I just e-mailed Eicher group, the people who now own Enfield India about the rumor we hear occasionally about the Interceptor being reintroduced. The word I get is, "nothing now.....maybe in two years." I think if they realized that the Interceptor has so much more road potential and more potential buyers than the Bullet, may be they would get off their asses a whole lot sooner than two years. I think this is especially true if you look at the new Triumph Bonneville and see what an overweight behemoth this once lithe bike has become. in that respect, the Series II Interceptor would fill a great void. Nice web site......keep it up... Rob Harding from the Northwest of the U.S.A wrote: Hello, from U.S.A. Great pictures. I am just beginning a restoration of a 1970 Interceptor. I was shopping for a Norton when I found this bike. Now I'm throwing rocks at Nortons. Looking forward to watching your site develop. Good Luck and G'day mate. Rob. David Spires wrote: Hello? Finally a web page for the Interceptors! thanks, but please don't limit the site to the Series II. I'm really looking forward to the site grow, good luck!
