Replying to Discussion Group and to this Web site.
The Discussion group was started by me at Yahoo. Postings are generally not moderated. You can modify your own settings to indicate if you want an e-mail for any new postings or only for special messages or none at all. None of us want excessive Spam mail. News groups and web pages are fertile ground for harvesting valid e-mail addresses. For this reason:1) I do NOT put out people's e-mail addresses in the discussion group. If you do include e-mail addresses in your own postings, replace the @ sign with AT and a couple of spaces each side. e.g. mashed AT army.com.au
2) I don't include people's e-mail addresses (unless insisted on) on the web page www.ozemate.com/interceptor
3) Settings on the discussion group do not allow you to e-mail to the discussion group direct (that would otherwise be nice for spammers, eh!). You must become a member of the group, sign in and post your entry.
The discussion group settings ALSO do NOT allow you to include attachements. Instead, use the file upload or photo upload facility of the discussion group. If you reply to a For Sale Item on the Web site www.ozemate.com/interceptor or just want to contact me without being a member of the discussion group, just use the e-mail facility found under "Hello".
Once I've replied to you in any matter, or if there are things of non general interest, fell free to e-mail me direct using the e-mail address of my reply.
If you send pictures try to send pictures with a clear or pleasant background (not the surroundings of a messy garage), light from behind the kamera, avoind midday sharp sunshine, afternoon is best in semi shade. E-mail the pictures with no more file size than around 600k in jpg format.
Dont worry about cropping or optimisation, I'll do that.
Some are frustratied trying to join the Interceptor Discussion
group. However, it's worth the trouble. At last count, April 2002,
there were 54 enthusiastic members, some contribute a lot, other greatfully
just watch, like anything else in this world. But it's good fun. I have jotted down a log of events, maybe they are of some help. There are possibly errors and things I've missed. Please email me on the feedback page with details and I'll improve it, but here are my notes as they are now. Take it slow, read instructions, check everywhere for things like Sign, in, Join group, Activate membership and so on. If all else fails, find someone to trial end error it with you.
Cheers "Royal" Some General tips about this web site See it better by...: If you use Internet Explorer, pressing the F11 key, will toggle and maximise the area for this webpage, try it. The site has only been tested for Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape version 4 or later. If you have any problems or questions using the site, please report them using our feedback page. For your pleasure, this is a web site with no annoying advertising, not even web hosting adverts. If you like what you see and need any graphics or web work yourself, go to © www.paccon.com or see almost free web solutions for your home uses or business at http://www.ozemate.com A "Must Read" on Virus Vigilance As I have pointed out on page one on the Discussion page, all attachements have been disallowed on messages you post here. (set long ago), so there shouldn't be any of these posts carrying any attachements. Of course a message could masquerade to come from here. Only text messages should come from this discussion group. If you have been sending e-mails directly between members of this group, you still have to be on the lookout. It's none of my business but suggest that before you send ANY attachements to each other, that you first send an e-mail saying that you will send an attachement. pre-advice. Right now the Klez worm is spreading rapidly! To keep up to date I suggest you check the http://www.sophos.com or http://www.nai.com is a good sites but you probably have your own favorite. Sometimes virus warnings are send out as hoaxes and http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/ could be worth a try as well. There was a nasty chain letter going out a couple of months ago, suggesting that you delete certain files from your Windows directory. Without verifying, many people DID?! See also http://www.hoaxinfo.com If you use Outlook express or Outlook. Make it simple and don't click directly on an attachement, but use the menu File, Save attachements options. Save to a temporary disk location and subject them to your virus checking program. Turn off pre-view in Outlook or Outlook express. Ok, I promise, this is all I'm saying about viruses. This is not a discussion group for Nerds on computer issues. As mentioned above there are many good sites on the net on the subject. I encourage you to not embarrass yourself amongst friends by NOT keeping a clean house. Set up some strict rules and routines yourself, and stick to them. Find such rules on web sites like the ones I listed above. Finally, should you ever entertain the habit of sending
to more than one recipient, make sure youve checked this
